Deborah Schleicher, PsyD
Licensed Psychologist: PSY-25901
Thanks for taking this moment for yourself, or someone you care about, to learn how therapy can become a useful tool in life if it isn't already. As a licensed clinical psychologist of over 10 years experience, I enjoy meeting new clients that reach out the moment they are considering taking this step. This may be where YOU are at now. If so, it's only fair to read a little more about me including what I do and how I work.
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology in San Francisco, CA, which afforded the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings including community clinics, Universities and crisis centers. The last several years I’ve working as a Director in Student Health, Counseling and Mental Health, at the University of Southern California. I previously worked at the UCLA Medical Center, specifically working with clients who experienced interpersonal trauma.
In my private practice I focus on implementing evidence based interventions for anxiety, mood disorders and trauma healing. I never underestimate the strength and vulnerability it takes to participate in therapy. I am honored to be a part of my clients’ lives and look forward to being a part of this moment of change for YOU.
Services
I provide assessments and treatment plans in collaboration with clients focused on symptom reduction in both short and long-term therapy. Identifying targeted goals such as increasing coping, enhancing relationships or changing unhelpful behaviors can help clients gage their progress while working with me.
I value each client’s intersecting identities and focus on better understanding how those identities relate to their presenting concerns as well as their relationship with me. Utilizing a trauma informed approach, I aim to create a trusted, collaborative, working relationship with every client. I find that a trusting and secure relationship with clients contributes significantly to the progress that can be made in treatment.
I realize that each client has their own unique needs depending on whether they are new to therapy or not. Therefore, I utilize an eclectic style incorporating psychodynamic and evidence based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Unified Protocol, Self-Compassion, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and mindfulness-based interventions. I meet each client where they are at in their own process and utilize a wholistic model to increase awareness of the many ways our bodies are connected to our mind and emotions.
